The
WESTIN
LA CANTERA RESORT
Our
Most Popular Golf Stop in the Lone
Star State
Home
of the PGA Texas
Open
and Two of the Shiniest Stars in Ol' San Antone!
It didn't
take long for
this resort to rise to the top- especially when it comes to the two
fine
course designs of Jay Morrish and Arnold Palmer. This resort also has
plenty
to do for the non-golfer. Play the Golf Digest top rated course in the
state and stay at the Westin La Cantera Resort. Artistically landscaped
to blend naturally with Texas Hill Country and immaculately appointed
within
to provide that feel of luxury this golf resort is in a class of its'
own.
Adjacent to Six Flags Fiesta Texas theme park, close to Seaworld and
not
all that far from The Riverwalk most rooms and balconeys overlook the
course.
Home of the Westin Texas Open this new resort will be amaze all.
La Cantera
has been the
site of the PGA Tour's Texas Open since 1995. Located on the north side
of town, this thrill-a-minute design by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish
has
made quite a bit of noise since its debut. It was a Golf Magazine "Top
10 You Can Play" pick for 1995 and continues to set its sights high
with
the second scenic course. Thirty-six holes and no better place to view
San Antonio and the surrounding countryside.

Golf at LaCantera
Golf legend and
award-winning
course designer, Arnold Palmer, has created a championship course for
The
Westin La Cantera Resort to rival his other courses named as America’s
Best Courses by Golfweek. The 6,926-yard, par-71 magnificently scenic
course
is set in the Texas Hill Country and will challenge your skills from
tee
to green. The public course is Palmer’s first in South Texas and his
fifth
course in the state. The Palmer Course is adjacent to the existing
Resort
Course at La Cantera, and together, the public courses provide 36
exciting
holes of championship golf to guests of The Westin La Cantera Resort.
The Resort Course at La
Cantera,
home of the PGA Tour's Valero Texas Open and The Palmer Course at La
Cantera
offer the best of both worlds to the business and leisure traveler. The
Golf Academy at La Cantera, headed by Mike Lamanna, offers a wide
variety
of programs to ensure player improvement at every skill level and, upon
request, can develop customized programs.
With their unique
landscaping of
artistically carved rock and colorful foliage, The Westin La Cantera
Resort,
Resort Course at La Cantera and The Palmer Course at La Cantera evoke
places
so natural and real that it feels as if they’ve been here forever.
