OCEAN LINKS
GOLF COURSE
Winding
along a coastal Atlantic dune ridge, Ocean Link's #4, #5, #6, #15 and #16
provide golfers with five oceanfront golf holes. The fairways and greens
are parallel to the beaches of Amelia Island and meander through a unique
coastal maritime hammock. Named by Golf for Women as one of the "50 Best
Courses for Women", this close proximity to the ocean and the ever changing
sea breeze provide the golfer with exhilarating views and intriguing play.
Red Maple Lake GolfOcean Links has
10 holes that feature lagoons and marsh wetlands in addition to concluding
with a par three whose green is strategically placed in the waters of Red
Maple Lake. The course winds through six miles of the natural sand dunes
and seaside terrain that make Amelia Island so special. It can be said
that this is as much a nature tour as it is a round of golf. The course
yardage of 6,300 yards is somewhat deceiving since small greens, narrow
fairways and prevailing winds make the course play much longer. At par
70, this 18 hole combination provides a challenge to golfers of all levels.

OAK MARSH
GOLF COURSE
The
Oak Marsh Golf Course is one of the truly classic Pete Dye designed golf
courses in the world. The course, built in 1972 shortly after the completion
of the Harbour Town Golf Links at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, is
noted for its tight fairways and small greens, meandering along serpentine
salt marsh creeks and through the moss draped heritage oaks that Amelia
Island is famous for.
At par 72, this 6,500 yard course
has fourteen holes with water hazards and numerous bulkheaded greens. A
variety of bunkers are placed throughout the course to add to the challenge
and a natural approach has been maintained as well with the use of coquina
shell cart paths, native plant life and preserved habitats for the local
wildlife. Walking is allowed after 4:00 pm.
Oak Marsh played host to the 1991
PGA Section Championship and 1992 Society of Seniors Championship. In addition,
numerous resort tournaments are played here as well. Oak Marsh has been
included in Golf Digest's prestigious list of the "Top 75 Resort Courses
in the U.S." and Amelia Island Plantation is a Golf Magazine "1996-2004
Silver Medal Golf Resort". Oak Marsh was also selected by Travel &
Leisure golf as one of the " Florida's 50 Finest Courses."

LONGPOINT
GOLF COURSE
Completed
in 1987, Fazio's award winning design challenges golfers with natural hazards,
tight fairways and elevated greens. The rolling fairways wind through three
spectacular and distinctive settings: the magnificent marshes, the thick
oak and pine forest and the scenic oceanfront dunes. Long Point's character
is shaped by natural waste bunkers, large undulating greens and our very
distinctive back to back oceanfront Par 3's. In addition, the golf course
demands that the golfers' shot carry the water hazard on eight different
occasions. Many of these holes leave the casual observer with breathtaking
views of the Amelia River and expansive salt marshes.
Long Point is a par 72 course with
a back tee yardage of 6,775 yards. It has been acclaimed as one of the
"Top Fifty Courses in Florida", by Golfweek Magazine and one of the "Best
Places to Play" by Golf Digest. The Florida Women's Amateur, Men's US Open
and US Amateur qualifiers have been held here in the past in addition to
numerous Amelia Island Club events and championships. This course is also
the primary course of our Amelia Island Club members.

ROYAL AMELIA
GOLF COURSE
Royal Amelia is renowned as one of the best-conditioned courses in the
area with incredibly smooth TifEagle greens, sculpted around a forest of
majestic live oaks, sabal palms, pines and wax myrtles. This par 72 track,
designed by Tom Jackson, which plays to a yardage of 6,823 from the back
tees, is always in pristine shape with well-manicured rolling fairways,
smooth bunkers and greens that challenge all skill levels. This course
is unique in character and is a treat to play.
Royal Amelia consists of 18-holes
of challenging golf where ball control and accuracy are keys to a great
game. The first hole at Royal Amelia is located along the border of the
Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport, as are #5 and #13. These fairways are
wide and open giving the golfer a sense of a traditional Scottish links
course. Enjoy these holes while you can because the rest contain individual
and groups of trees that, while adding beauty to the course, require cautious
ball placement.
The 6th hole is a good example of
the course’s challenges. The landing area off the tee is very wide, however,
an uphill fairway requires a blind shot. At the top of this hill, a group
of trees on the left calls for a high and long shot to reach the green.
To add to the challenge there are four bunkers along the front and left
of the green.
Large greens and rolling fairways
are a trademark of Royal Amelia. The par five 13th hole is remarkable for
its tranquil beauty. The par four 14th hole presents the more skilled golfer
with a tantalizing risk-reward proposition; there is water all the way
from the tee box to the green requiring either a long shot to the green
or a conservative shot to the right on the open fairway and then there
are three bunkers protecting the green. Our signature 17th hole is a par
three surrounded by water demanding an accurate shot to the island green.
The final hole ends at the edge of the Amelia River and its expansive tidal
marsh. This is where Royal Amelia’s future clubhouse will be located with
verandahs overlooking the river and will be available for corporate outings.
